The National Public Television and Radio Company of Ukraine has refused to participate in the international song contest Eurovision-2019. This was announced on February 27 by the press service of National broadcast company.
“National Selection-2019 has revealed and attracted the attention of our society to the systemic problem of the music industry in Ukraine: the connections of artists with show business in the territory of the state-aggressor, which are still very close at the 5th year of the military conflict,” was noted in the National broadcast company.
The department claims that for a part of society concerts and ties with the Russian Federation are acceptable, and in the other – this fact causes indignation and rejection.
Ukraine again refuses to participate in the international competition.
In particular, in 2015, Ukraine refused Eurovision due to the annexation of the Crimea and the occupation of Donbas as a result of the military aggression of neighboring Russia.
