Amnesty International, an international human rights organization, believes that the Ukrainian authorities have not been able to effectively investigate crimes committed during the EuroMaidan 2013-2014 for five years. This anniversary of the shootings at Maidan was reported by the press center of human rights activists.

“Five years is more than sufficient time to restore justice, but for most of the victims who suffered from the hands of the Ukrainian police, justice is still unavailable,” said Colm O’Gorman, Senior Director of the Office of the Secretary General of Amnesty International.

According to him, Ukrainian “politicians gave loud promises several times, but time and facts speak for themselves”.

“One year after those events, we published the report ‘Ukraine: a year after the Maidan – justice is delayed, justice is denied.’ Five years have passed, but the name of the report still corresponds to reality, a sham for the Ukrainian criminal justice system,” he says.

Human rights activists urged the Ukrainian authorities to endeavor to investigate murders at Maidan.
