The international human rights organization Human Rights Watch announces the continuation of restrictions on rights and freedoms in Ukraine in 2018. This is stated in the World Report – 2019 Organization, published on January 17.

The 29th annual Global Human Rights Watch report on 674 pages presents a general description of the human rights situation in 2018 in more than 100 countries.

The Ukrainian part of the report said that the fifth year of the armed conflict in the Donbass continued full impunity for conflict-related abuses.

“The government has taken further steps to restrict freedom of expression and association: violence by radical groups puts at risk the representatives of national minorities, LGBT activists, activists and journalists,” the text says.

It is also noted that in the occupied Crimea, the Russian authorities continued the persecution of pro-Ukrainian activists and Crimean Tatars.
