Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia will be open to a dialogue with the new leadership of Ukraine if it is interested in it.

“In any case, we will respect the choice of our neighbors, the choice of Ukrainians. We will be open to a dialogue with the new leadership if it is interested in this,” Medvedev said.

He also characterized the election campaign in Ukraine as “dirty” and added that while watching it, Russia does not yet understand “to whom we can speak in Ukraine”.

Medvedev also expressed dissatisfaction with the closure of polling stations in Russia and the refusal to allow Russian election observers.

On December 31, the Ukrainian presidential election campaign of 2019 has begun.
