They say that they’ve got new ratings of presidential candidates. The poll was conducted by the sociological group Rating. So, according to new results, Volodymyr Zelensky leads the race. Behind him, almost toe-to-toe, Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko. What those new results mean (and do they mean something at all) – in reactions from DUMKA.
Prior to passing to the comments, let’s look at these ratings together. So, among those who have already decided and want to come to the polling station, the vast majority (25.1%) are going to give their vote to Zelensky. The gap between the incumbent president and the leader of the Batkivshchyna was reduced to 16.6% and 16.2% respectively.
People have quite different thoughts as for who will become president. According to the respondents, Poroshenko has the biggest chance to become a president, then goes (with already noticeable margin) Tymoshenko, and this top-three is closed by Zelensky.
The results of a hypothetical second tour are also interesting. If we believe the “Rating” group, Zelensky wins both Poroshenko and Tymoshenko. The current president, however, loses to both competitors.
Analyzing new ratings, political expert Olexiy Minakov emphasized that the recent investigation into embezzlement of the defense sector was unlikely to play a part in the survey. The same applies to the scandalous decision of the Constitutional Court. Thus, the results of the study are not surprising. Instead, the expert suggests, that a new episode of the investigation by Bihus.info can damage the rating of the current president pretty heavily.
Instead, another political expert, Mykola Melnyk, believes that without new ideas and solutions, Zelensky has no real chances to win in the second tour. In addition, Boyko, in the opinion of a specialist, has won the fight for a pro-Russian electorate, taking the fourth place, and Hrytsenko is unlikely to enter this top-three.
The political scientist Mykhailo Basarab drew our attention to the fact that during the second tour, the electorate of… Murayev goes to Zelensky – the leader of the new ratings. Yes-yes, not to Boyko or Vilkul, which seems to be more logical, but to the leader of Kvartal 95. So the expert characterized the showman as a “Yanukovych of postmodern”.
Oleksandr Aronets, politician and civic activist, in his turn, assured that only “new patriotic face” can defeat Zelensky. However, the author does not explain how can this person get to this top-three leaders.
Journalist Serhii Guz looked at the ratings a little bit differently: the author was outraged that the results did not specify a customer of the survey. Thus it is a violation, and therefore the question of trust is raised.
A blogger Roman Sharik emphasized that the results were not influenced by recent scandals and unification of Hrytsenko with Sadovyi. At the same time, the author adds: Zelensky is supported the most by youth, Poroshenko – by middle-aged people, and the electorate of Tymoshenko are pensioners.
The blogger Oleh Sharp drew attention to the results of the polls as for parliamentary elections. The leader is Zelensky’s party Sluha Narodu. That is, the party, which, according to the author, does not exist yet, as well as the list of its members, financial operations or party media.
As for Zelensky himself, the blogger is confident that if the elections were held in June, the rating of the artist would have fallen at least three times, because voters need time.
Political scientist Alexander Leonov suggested that Tymoshenko is actually… a decoy of Zelensky. As for the union of Hrytsenko and Sadovyi – it’s too early to say something about it. The overall rating of politicians is 10%, however, such unions never have an arithmetic nature.
