The Verkhovna Rada approved a bill on admittance of troops of foreign countries to the territory of Ukraine for participation in multinational exercises in 2019. The decision was supported by 263 people’s deputies from 353 attendees.
The law provides for the admission of units of armed forces of other countries to participate, in particular, in the Ukrainian-American exercise “Rapid Trident-2019”, the Ukrainian-American exercise “Sea Breeze-2019”, the Ukrainian-British exercise “Warier Watcher 2019”, etc.
Multinational training in the training of units of the armed forces will be conducted in the territory of the International Center for Peacekeeping and Security (the village of Starichi in Lviv region) and in other military units and artillery complexes for up to 365 days. The exercises will be attended by 10 thousand Ukrainian military and up to 1.5 thousand US military.
In the “Starychy” will also be conducted training “Rapid Trident-2019” – it will last up to 25 days.
The training “Sea Breeze 2019” will last for 20 days in the Black Sea, at military airfields and landfills, as well as in international airports at naval bases, etc.
The Riverine-2019 training will take place around the Danube River, its mouth and the Black Sea area for about 10 days. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will attract up to 200 soldiers with weapons and military equipment, up to 9 ships (vessels and boats), up to 2 helicopters, up to 2 planes, from the Armed Forces of Romania – up to 200 military equipment, up to 9 ships (boats and vessels) , up to 2 helicopters.
Exercise Maple Arco-2019 will be held at the Ukrainian Armed Forces (Zhytomyr oblast) training grounds for 14 days, July-December 2019.
Warrior Watcher 2019 training will be conducted at military airfields and landing sites of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Mykolaiv region) for about 16 days.
