Don’t say that the discussion of this year’s selection for Eurovision did not get to your feed. Yes-yes, according to the results of the vote, Maruv has won, and has already promised to cancel the upcoming tour in Russia and (how unexpectedly) stated about pressure. Details – in reactions from DUMKA.
So, on the Facebook page of Suspilne, they emphasized: the winner of the national selection took the contract in order to familiarize with the terms of participation in the Eurovision. The official announcement of a representative from Ukraine will only take place after the completion of musicians’ check for compliance with the conditions and only after the signing the contract.
Maruv herself says that the last day was perhaps the most emotional in her life. She also says that the same day she received at least three proposals to represent another country at the song contest. However, the singer seeks to represent Ukraine and therefore assured that she is ready to give up her performances in Russia.
And here’s what Maruv tells about the contract, which nobody has ever seen publicly. She says that in the text there is a lot of absurd, extra splits can cost two million hryvnias, and (attention!) even with the visa, she must deal on her own.
However, we all know with what network was outraged the most – the singer, who tours on the territory of the aggressor state, became the winner of the national selection. She believes that “art is out of politics”, “war for peace is the same as sex for the sake of virginity,” etc. In view of this, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Vyacheslav Kyrylenko did not agree with the choice of the representative and emphasized: an artist who toured in the aggressor state can’t be the representative of our country.
Jamala, the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest and one of the members of the national selection jury, assured that she was guided solely by a fair professional assessment of songs and artists, as well as their chances of winning in Tel Aviv.
People’s Deputy Vadym Denysenko made public a number of claims to Suspilne, stating that its leadership (with the assumption of the author, also with the participation of the supervisory board) allegedly demonstrated absolute incompetence.
Oleksiy Davydenko, a blogger, and businessman, instead only reminded that our sailors are still behind the Russian bars, as well as political prisoners, and the war is still ongoing, Crimea is still occupied.
However, the political expert, Olexiy Minakov, explained all this more detailed, stressing that the views of Maruv are a marker for Ukrainian society. As a result, the expert states that the fact that the performer, who tours in the aggressor state will represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest – it’s just a lost battle, and the war continues to this day.
Myroslav Hai, a blogger, volunteer and coordinator of the Myr i Ko Foundation, in his turn, criticized the vocal abilities of the national selection’s winner, assuring that this time it is not clear at all how the Ukrainian representative is going to win.
The blogger Anton Hodza also tried to give an assessment to the singer in a separate post, rejecting the political component. As a result, the author of the post found a few more reasons why Maruv should not have been chosen.
Singer and TV host Anzhelika Rudnytska, after reading Maruv’s message about alleged pressure from the NTSU, offered the singer support: a trip to Avdiivka instead of Russian tours.
Serhiy Prytula, the host of national selection, hinted that this year’s Eurovision in Ukraine is an approximate scenario of what will happen if we don’t come to the polls during the presidential election.
Aleksey Petrov, a veteran of the ATO and blogger, in his turn, stressed that it was not necessary to make a surprised face, because now there are many people who do not care about Ukraine and what will happen tomorrow because they live in their own, separate fictional world.
The writer Antin Mukharskyi wrote that Maruv is a part of one chain, which aims to demoralize those Ukrainians who are struggling.
Political scientist Yuriy Romanenko, in his turn, expressed a less popular in the network point of view, noting that Maruv was chosen as a winner by spectators, and therefore, by contract, the state can not determine how the singer should act and how she should act on the stage.
Reactions were collected and Tse Sho were listened to by Stepan the Goat
