The second half of February is a harsh and easy period of the year at the same time. At least for me. On the one hand, the endless sealed gray dome over the head, gray and damp ice beneath the feet and a permanent mixture of snow and rain undermine the strength and patience. And on the other hand – just in the middle of February, by the Candlemas, the atmosphere with a timid gentle sun, warming, and icicles clearly show that the spring is very close. You reject doubts, sad thoughts and begin to dream of tender green leaves.
In the near future, in Ukraine, the daytime air temperature in most areas will exceed zero degrees. It is expected +1 +5 degrees.
Fresh air will be in the east and northeast of Ukraine, even in the afternoon from 1 to 3 degrees of frost.

By the way, it is in the eastern part of Ukraine, as well as in Sumy and Chernihiv regions, the lowest night air temperature is expected, -2 -7 degrees, in some places down to -8 -10 degrees. In the rest of the territory of Ukraine, the thermometers will range from 2 degrees Celsius to 4 degrees Celsius at night.
At the end of the current and the beginning of the next week, from February 17, warming will begin in Ukraine.
Daytime temperatures will be +2 +7 degrees. The warmest weather, up to March level, will be in the western regions and the southern part, +5 +11 degrees.
On February 15 and 16, in the western regions, in the north and central parts, there is a probability of light precipitation in the form of rain and sleet. The precipitation phase will depend on the air temperature.
The southern part of Ukraine will belong to the dry air mass.
The first half of the next week, from Monday to Wednesday, promises to come with a dry comfortable air mass in Ukraine.
The weather will be determined by the anticyclone, the area of high atmospheric pressure.
Precipitation is unlikely, there will be more sun and clear sky.
However, along with warming and sunny days, the melting of ice and snow will increase, icicles are hanging from the roofs. Be careful!
In Kyiv, until the end of the week, the weather will be cloudy, with minor clears. February 15, on the Candlemas, and February 16, light sleet is possible in some places. There will be sleet on the roads. The air temperature will fluctuate at night in the range of -1 -4 degrees, and from 0 to +3 degrees is expected in the daytime.
On February 17, partly cloudy weather is expected. Sunny weather will arrive to the capital. The temperature of the weather will immediately rise, during the day it will be warm, up to +3 +6 degrees.
The first half of the next week, from 18 to 20 of February, also promises to be synoptically comfortable, in Kyiv dry weather is expected, with nocturnal minor “minuses” and small “pluses” during the day.
The sun is gradually gaining brightness, degrees are rising, there are more fun puddles, February overcomes its middle.
These modest signs of the approach of the spring add strength and joy to us.
