The Verkhovna Rada voted to include in the agenda and submit to the Constitutional Court a bill on the renaming of the Dnipropetrovsk region to Sicheslavsk. It was supported by the decision of 244 people’s deputies.
At the same time, deputies did not support the draft decision on renaming Dnipropetrovsk region to Dniprovsk region. After the vote of the Rada, the Constitutional Court should give an opinion on whether the bill on the renaming is not in conflict with the Constitution of Ukraine. After the court’s conclusion, deputies must approve the draft in the first reading by no less than 226 votes. And at the next session, deputies must support it by at least 300 votes.
