The General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine reports that it opened criminal proceedings against a pro-Russian politician, chairman of the Political Council of the “Opposition Platform – For Life” Viktor Medvedchuk on the Articles “State Treason” and “Encroachment on the Territorial Integrity and Inviolability of Ukraine”, Radio Liberty reports.
According to a spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General Larysa Sarhan on February 5, the case was initiated on behalf of People’s Deputy Andriy Teteruk by a statement made by Viktor Medvedchuk at the party congress on January 29, where he talked about the need for the so-called “autonomous region of Donbas”.
Medvedchuk believes that the agreements can be reached in the quadrangle Kyiv – Donetsk – Lugansk –Moscow.
