Currently, the epidemic thresholds in Ukraine are not exceeded. This was reported by the head of the department of influenza and ARVI of the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine Oksana Artemchuk, UNIAN writes.
“According to the data of last week in Ukraine, the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections has grown mostly among the adult population. Children were on vacation, they returned to the educational process on Monday, so next week we will see the growth of flu and URTI among children”, representative of the Ministry of Healthcare stated. According to her, epidemic thresholds in Ukraine as a whole are not exceeded.
“On the contrary, we are below the threshold, this is good. However, in some regions, namely in Zhytomyr, Sumy, Odesa oblasts, epidemic thresholds are exceeded, and in these areas, there is an epidemic level of morbidity, most notably in Zhytomyr region”, Artemchuk said.
She also noted that vaccination against influenza was only 0.4% of the population of Ukraine.
