Sailor Andrii Novichkov has already arrived in Kyiv. He was exchanged for an Iranian spy, UNIAN reports.
Andrii Novichkov was exchanged for a citizen of Iran, Ali Djaduey, who was accused of espionage in Ukraine. The president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, pardoned the Iranian by his decree. According to representatives of foreign intelligence, he has already returned to Iran at midnight on Wednesday. Novichkov refused to tell details about the exchange.
Novichkov was charged with the murder of an Iranian sailor on the ship, where Novichkov was an assistant of captain. He claims that the sailor jumped into the sea.
