The Ukrainian side at the last meeting of this year’s Minsk meeting will demand the immediate release of hostages and their exchange on December 27. This was reported by Iryna Gerashchenko, a representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on the Situation Settlement in the Donbas, Hromadske writes.
Ukraine offers the release of hostages in the format 23 to 23 (convicted Russians in exchange for Ukrainian political prisoners of the Kremlin) and 66 to 19 (convicted militants for the Ukrainian captives in the Donbas).
In addition, the Ukrainian side in Minsk will require the immediate admission of the OSCE mission to monitor the Azov and Black Seas, as well as the release of all occupied Ukrainian territories.
The last exchange of hostages took place on December 27, 2017. This is the first in two years and the biggest exchange. According to the SBU, 73 hostages returned to the controlled territory. Ukraine transferred 233 people to the occupied territory.
