The martial law in Ukraine will not be prolonged after the expiration of its 30-day period on December 26, if there is no full Russian invasion. This was stated by President Petro Poroshenko at a press conference in Kyiv, Ukrainska Pravda reports.
“If there is no full-scale invasion of the Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine outside the line of contact, the martial law will not be extended, and preparations for the president’s election will begin,” he said.
Poroshenko stressed that his principled position is that a state of war should not hinder the holding of elections.
