In Austria, 128 cinema and television directors appealed to the Federal Government of the country, which is currently residing in the EU, to do their utmost to liberate the Ukrainian political prisoner of the Kremlin, Oleg Sentsov, Ukrinform reports.

The petition was signed by the representatives of the Austrian filmmakers’ association (Verband Filmregie Osterreich) and the Austrian Directors’ Association, according to Ukrinform’s own correspondent in Vienna.

“As the chair of the Council of the EU, Austria also has a special responsibility in the Sentsov case. We, Austria’s film and television directors strongly appeal to the federal government to do their utmost to ensure the best medical treatment of Oleg Sentsov in a short timeframe, as well as unite all the forces for his release from the Russian detention”, the petition says.
