The prosecutor’s office of the Kyiv region and operatives of the State Fiscal Service in the Kyiv region exposed and stopped the illegal activities of the “Interregional Center for Minimization of Customs Payments”, which in 2017-2018 caused damage to the state for more than 15 million UAH, reports Hromadske.
Searches were conducted in cars, in homes of suspects and in the offices of the Kiev, Kharkov and Odesa region. During the searches, law enforcement officers seized about 10 million hryvnias which were illegally obtained, more than 30 seals, as well as documents, computers and electronic data carriers. The prosecutor’s office added that they also arrested the bank accounts related to the activities of the center. The Center for Minimization of Payments is an illegal organization that helps Ukrainian importers to underestimate the value of goods imported into the territory of Ukraine, which makes customs payments to the budget less expensive.
