Autumn elections of the heads and deputies at the occupied Ukrainian territory will be postponed for an indefinite period. While the initiative is put forward by public organizations, the official decision has already been agreed upon with Moscow and will be announced later, RBC sources reported.

Among their problems is the lack of direct need in the reelection of deputies and leaders of the “republics”, risks for the Minsk accords and prospects for new sanctions. A source close to the authorities of the occupied Ukrainian territory said that sociologists from Moscow came to Donetsk this summer to analyze the moods of the republic. Snapshot of public opinion “was very unfavorable for the current team,” reported the source.
