Russia plans to rebuild the ferry connection of the annexed Crimea with Turkey by the end of the fall. This was announced by the director general of the state enterprise “Crimean seaports” Alexey Volkov, wrote TASS.

“We met with forwarders and shipowners on the start of the Turkish-Crimean-Turkey direct autopark line. The time when we start will be autumn,” he said. According to Volkov, it is assumed that the ferry will be able to go to Turkey from the port of Kerch, the closest to the car bridge across the Kerch Strait. About the ports that will be used in Turkey is not known at this time.

The representative of the Russian Federation noted that the ferry line will be used for the delivery of vegetables and fruits from Turkey and meat – from the Crimea. “Ports and services are ready, comfortable conditions for future cooperation are provided. We look forward to the decision of the partners and the signing of the agreement,” Volkov said. According to him, the maritime passenger service with Turkey is scheduled to be launched in 2019.
