Illegally sentenced in Russia, Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov will not write a petition for his pardon, said Russian human rights activist Pavel Chikov, chairman of the international human rights group “Agora”, UNIAN reports.
In this way, he commented on the fact that Sentsov is currently reluctantly pleading for pardon. “Oleg will not be able to write any requests, this is obvious. Whatever the petitioners and as it may seem, hinted at such a necessity,” Pavel Chikov wrote on his Telegram channel.
The Department for ensuring constitutional rights of citizens under the Presidential Administration issued a response to the mother of Ukrainian political prisoner Lyudmila Sentsova at her request to pardon her son. Putin stated that, in order to start the Ukrainian political prisoner’s pardon, Oleg Sentsov, he should independently address President Vladimir Putin to the relevant request.
