The Italian Carabinierians uncovered an organization that recruited mercenaries for the war in the Donbas. This is reported by Radio Liberty.
Police found out that for engaging in hostilities, foreign mercenaries received only 300-400 euros a month.
“It is well-known that in Ukraine during the war, the pro-Russian army, is paid a little since mercenaries can earn significantly more in other armed conflicts, so the main stimulus for these people is the ideological belief”, says journalist and the head of the newspaper OttoPagine from the city of Avellino Luciano Trapanese.
The search for potential mercenaries in Italy and their deportation to Donbas, according to the investigation, was under the guise of humanitarian operations.
