The Revolution of Dignity Museum will be built in Kyiv according to the German project “Storm of the Hill”, that recently won the contest. The project was made by German architects Jan Kleiiheus and Johannes Kressner. According to the winners, the future building will combine in its past and present, as well as the museum itself and the memorial. More about how the country’s main museum will look like – in reactions from DUMKA.

On the web-page of the architectural competition, it was noted that the second prize was awarded to the project of Ukrainian architects Anton Oliynyk and Oleksiy Pakhomov. The third place was given to the French architect Lina Ghotmeh. All interested will be able to get closer to competition projects from July 13 to August 13 at the Kyiv Architect’s House.

But who cares about that text, if the greatest desire is to see how this museum will look in the future, isn’t it? Therefore, with joy and uncovered enthusiasm, I share some images of the winning project with you.

By the way, here is a project that was developed by the Ukrainians and got the second place.

Here we have equally beautiful and non-standard project from the French (third place).

On the web-page of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, a small report was given on the summary of the contest’s results. According to one of the winners Yan Kleiheus, the competition itself means that Ukraine is a nation open to the world, and the essence of the project concerns both past and future. Both architects witnessed the events when Berlin was divided into eastern and western, they know the revolution’s price. That’s why according to them, the process of developing a building project was treated with great respect.

On a side, a commentary by the Minister of Culture Yevgen Nishchuk is presented. Speaking about the future museum, the minister also recalled Ukrainian prisoners, who are illegally detained in Russian prisons. Also, Nishchuk said that Oleg Sentsov’s cinema project “Numbers” was submitted to pitching. Everyone sincerely hopes that it will be filmed by director Sentsov himself.

Volodymyr Viatrovich, director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, claimed that choosing a winner is one more step towards the accomplishment of the great goal – the construction of the Maidan Museum.

Igor Poshivailo, director of the future museum, shared his joy on occasion of receiving the project. The author himself described the event as an opportunity not only to deep into the past but also to join the creation of the future.

Sculptor Olexiy Zolotarev added to the wave of joy a bit of rationality: now it is worth keeping calm, because quite often what we desire differs from reality. In his opinion, the main thing is that the Germans also conduct everything with German supervision.

Anastasia Gaidukevich, the scientific employee of the Institute of National Remembrance, said that the concept was in progress since 2014, including a lot of things: gathering information, familiarizing with world experience, thorough and critical rethinking, a tremendous amount of efforts, dreams, expectations, searches, etc. And the determination of the winner is another significant step to realization of a cherished dream.
