Today, on June 28, Ukraine celebrates the 22nd anniversary of the entry into force of country’s Constitution. The main document was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on the night of June 28, which was the fifth year since proclamation of independence. Document was adopted by 315 votes after almost a day of continuous work. About Constitution, greetings and thoughts of Ukrainian politicians – in reactions from DUMKA.
The President of Ukraine stressed that today Ukrainian Constitution is one of the most democratic codes of law in the world. Petro Poroshenko also called for appreciating the ideas and principles, which determine Ukraine’s life, as well as protect them together.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman also joined to congratulations. He noted that the Constitution demands respect from us, and emphasizes the absolute value of human being, his life, honor and dignity. Alongside this, Groisman added that the basic law of the country may require some changes. However it’s important that these changes must serve the interests of the Ukrainians.
Ivanna Klimpush-Tsintsadze, Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, is convinced that the Constitution Day is, first of all, a reminder to all of us. It recalls the dream of many generations of Ukrainians about a free, boundless and prosperous state, where everyone is equal. After all, it was the Constitution that guaranteed us the rights we were using during Maidan when we defended our European choice.
Anton Gerashchenko, MP, congratulated Ukrainians on the occasion of the holiday. The politician is convinced that these pieces of paper are the basis of stability and rule of law in the country. At the same time he added that they don’t work if people elect those who do not know the Constitution. Gerashchenko also shared with readers congratulations from the border guards.
MP, Olha Bohomolets decided to ruin festive atmosphere. She told that during her work in the Parliament, she had to witness the massive and repeated rapes of the Constitution when the deputies deliberately violated the basic law. Words “of sharing the grief” were in it as well. As an example of “rape”, Bohomolets presented… medical reform, which they say violates at once several articles of the main document. And, of course, the ending is typical: We need to change the political elite. So, the next elections will be without Bohomolets?
The former sycophants of the “Party of Regions” could not keep silent. For example, former “regional” and Justice Minister during Viktor Yanukovych reign – Olena Lukash, named the Constitution “a nice fairy tale that ends ugly”, that can’t be resurrected. The text itself is a standard post for all “regionals”. Cannibalism, jungles, violations of the law and a desert country – all of it is present there. And you know, my darlings, there is no holiday today. That ’s all folks, life is wasted and all that stuff.
And, of course, here we have Mr. Olexandr Vikul, also a former “regional”, who decided to put in the discussion of the Constitution Day his two cents (or maybe rubles?). For him, this day is a holiday with tears in his eyes. Moreover, just don’t laugh your head off, Vikul is a video-blogger. There he tells us a story about the government that destroys citizens and the country. I love and appreciate my reader, that’s why I decided not to add this video for the sake of your sound mind.
