A newly appointed head of the Donetsk regional state administration was presented to Kramatorsk. SBU (main Ukrainian security agency) general, Oleksandr Kuts became this person. While presenting the new governor, President of Ukraine also thanked his predecessor Pavel Zhebrivsky for his work. We remind you, that the latter was dismissed from his office on June 13, and on the 19th of the same month he became an auditor of NABU (Ukrainian anti-corruption bureau). Further information – in reactions from DUMKA.
Petro Poroshenko, in a post on his official web-page, stressed that Olexandr Kuts from the very first days of Russian aggression volunteered to serve as a part of SBU combat groups. Furthermore, according to president, new head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration has an analytical mind and broad experience. Moreover Kuts himself is well known and respected person in an entire Donetsk region. All right, we’ll see Mr. Kuts’s further work. As my grandpa said, when you take up a new job, you must forget all of your old achievements.
Of course, “betrayal” couldn’t be omitted even in such a small reaction. Nazar Prykhodko, journalist, volunteer and activist is sure that Kuts is far from being the best option for this position, because he’s already demonstrated that in war-torn region he does not prioritize fight against terrorism, collaboration and smuggling. If only Mr. Prykhodko was a fly on the wall, than, okay, I’ll have some credence in it. But I won’t have any trust in it until I see some real results.
The co-chairman of the civic initiative “The Right Deed” Dmytro Snegiryov decided to recall that Kuts himself was born in Russian Rostov-on-Don and was living in Russia till the middle of the 90’s. Since then, according to the post’s author, Kuts began to work in the “K” department of SBU. And I don’t know is it “betrayal” or not? Anyway, sometimes it happens that people have a bad luck not to be born in a normal country. In general, it’s the issue.
In contrary, politician and blogger Yuriy Mikhalchyshyn emphasized that he supports such a personnel change made by current authorities, saying that front-line regions should have leaders of such a professional background, because Donetsk region is not Galicia or Polissia. The other question is – whether an adequate replacement could be found.
Roman Shevchenko, ex-assistant to the head of the State Border Guard Service, also agreed that the personnel decision is correct, since for the first time Donetsk region is headed by SBU general. Obviously, Shevchenko doesn’t mind if things carry on like this.
Reactions were gathered, and their quantity was worried by Stepan Koza
