Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavel Rozenko said that if Parliament passes the law in the near future, necessary for launching the second pillar of the pension system, a compulsory accumulation pension, then it will be possible to start it from 2020.
“This is possible if parliament votes for it in the near future. We need about 3-4 months to adopt an additional regulatory framework for the launch of the accumulation system”, Vice Prime Minister said.
“If Ukraine had introduced the accumulation system on time, about 10 years ago, then we would have accumulated more resources in the Ukrainian economy from pension insurance during this time than received loans from the IMF,” Rosenko said.
It should be noted that at the end of December 2018, it became known that one of the requirements of the IMF to Ukraine was the refusal to introduce accumulation pensions from 2019. Therefore, the MPs did not approve of the relevant bill.
