President Petro Poroshenko claims that there is a real threat of a full-scale war since Russia is currently preparing for a strike. He said this during an operational-strategic gathering with the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on February 26.
“The threat of a full-scale war is not a declaration, it is quite real, especially in light of the current military preparations of the enemy near the Ukrainian border in Smolensk, Voronezh, Belgorod, Rostov regions and in the annexed Crimea,” Poroshenko said.
He recalled that Russian aggression began five years ago, but the Kremlin “in no way refused to be able to achieve its goals in Ukraine by the military means. The aggressor is concentrating new military units near our borders, increasing the potential for a possible invasion,” Poroshenko said.
