Interior Minister Arsen Avakov said that eight presidential candidates turned to the police for protection. He said this on a law enforcement coordinating meeting on Monday.
“We are conducting work on the protection of candidates for the presidency of Ukraine. At the moment, with this request, eight candidates have appealed to the National Police,” Avakov said.
The minister did not specify who exactly the candidates asked about the protection.
At the same time, he noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs will not interfere in the electoral process of supporting one of the presidential candidates, and everyone, regardless of proximity or opposition, will have equal rights.
