Speaking about no less important issue: who had ordered Katia Handziuk? The chairman of the Kherson Regional Council Vladyslav Manger, a suspect in organizing the assassination of an activist, was detained with the right to bail. More – in the reactions from DUMKA. Spoiler alert: the bail for the suspect has already been paid.
Such a court decision on a precautionary measure for Vladyslav Manger quite outraged the activists. In particular, a lawyer Masi Nayyem made a long post with a number of questions on this case, he also added that the suspect now knows much more about the pre-trial investigation than he knew before that.
Later on, the lawyer said that Vladyslav Manger could be involved in one more case. This is about the last year’s assault on a Kherson journalist and activist Serhiy Nikitenko.
Mustafa Nayyem, an MP and ex-journalist, criticized the court’s decision, stressing that, taking into account the public response, the severity of the crime and the social position of the suspect, such a sentence could be considered either an imitation or a verdict for… investigation.
Blogger Anton Hodza is convinced that if the preventive measure was detention without bail, the investigation could work better with the suspect, in other words, “to crack him”. However, the blogger is sure: for the investigation, the suspect was… a kitten who won’t escape, won’t seek the witnesses and won’t try to “settle down” issues.
The lawyer Yevhenia Zakrevska has also written about the fact that such a preventive measure… can’t prevent anything, by the way, the size of the bail, in her opinion, is minimal.
The public activist Serhiy Sternenko, an assassination attempt on whom was carried out the last year, said that for such crimes the law provides much more severe punishment, and usually doesn’t include such options as a bail.
Blogger Ivan Oberemko stressed that in the meantime Yulia Tymoshenko “has hidden in a hole, and doesn’t take part in this case,” as for Petro Poroshenko, he is struggling to destroy posters with the names of his party members that are involved in ordering the murder. By the way, he has no intention to expel them from the party.
Instead, Kherson activist and journalist Yeugenia Virlich recalled that without a final court decision nobody can call a person a criminal, nor does he has the right to fabricate a case “on the basis of unsettled disputes or personal hostility.” According to the journalist, real customers and murderers are still free, and there is no significant evidence against Manger.
Yevhen Krapyvin, a lawyer, also reminded about the presumption of innocence, adding that in the case of the disappearance of the suspect, he will be wanted and found. And if he still crosses the border, there will be some questions to the border guards and the Interior Ministry.
Meanwhile, Dmytro Ilchenko the lawyer of the suspect… personally bailed his client out.
