Candidate for the presidency from the Socialist Party, Illia Kiva, bailed 115 260 hryvnias for police officer Vasyl Melnikov, a suspect in the beating of the right-wing radicals from C14 in Kyiv, Hromadske writes.

“Now we will wait for a complete court decision. The law is one for everyone – it’s our position, but we don’t leave our people,” Kiva said.

Recall that on February 9, before the meeting of Yulia Tymoshenko with her voters, the law-enforcers detained people who went out for the rally “Who ordered Katia Handziuk?”

Participants in the action say that the police used force during detention, seized their belongings and refused to give them back. As a result, the detainees began to “protest”, after which, according to activists, the police used tear gas and beat them.

The State Investigation Bureau opened a criminal case because of the possible abuse of authority by police officers.
