If look attentively at the acting and potential presidents, one obvious and unambiguous thing comes in sight. Since the results of elections are influenced not only by common sense but also by Its Majesty TV something has tangibly changed. Now (Mr. Trump is the best example) simply a pleasant appearance and effective gestures are not enough for success among the electorate. Something greater is needed now, not just a show.
Among the major rivals, Poroshenko (I suppose, not consciously but accidentally) looks like an example of calm (boringly-calm) black-and-white standard. While the gipsy camp of his rivals is a tacky fair of neurasthenic freaks. Look attentively at these people.
Yulia. Habitually hysterical, pathetic and peremptory as a strained cord. If her performances are captured in random order – it will be the series of desperate human emotions – along with the wail that always accompanies them. Yulia is always shock and sensation. Even a new detail – the glasses – didn’t add sobriety to her but rather began to shine nervously reflecting the light of the floodlights and sparkle every second with bolts of lightning.
Zelensky. The comic who is entitled to be bright, troubled, unpredictable and paradoxical. Until he moves, cracks rustic jokes, demonstrates amazing facial expressions – he is in the right place. And only mise en scene demands to be earnest – he becomes smaller, nervous and angry (ask the ambassadors of the European Union) as if saying: Mr. Kolomoysky took me away from here, for God’s sake.
Lyashko – is the best friend of cows, forks, shovels, muzzles, fisting, funny posters and just a foolish screaming using quasi-surzhyk (mixed Russian and Ukrainian – translator’s note) and body language. Even when hired photographs try to render the seriousness of his face on posters – it comes out not very convincing as if he holds back farts and there are three seconds left.
Nadia is a walking (recently sitting) textbook of physiatry. No sense talking about irmakrats and hat raiders “Seek For A Wife”. Even those gradually passed the buck, who did their best not to slip into abyss of the circus parade and kept the image of the serious and prudent father of the nation (because we, in the wartime, also choose the commander-in-chief). It happened due to their environment: in the case with Hrytsenko – due to a subordinate: now he will be called “Anatoliy” and only like this to the rest of his life; in the case with Sadovyi – due to his wife who, as it is known, has been visited by a little Jesus and they chit-chatted about life.
Representatives of the occupation blocs are better at non-hysterics. But given the ratings of Boyko-Rabinovych and Berdiansk voyage of Vikul – this looks more like serious abashment.
We will see how it goes. In any case, we will have an interesting result: if the serious sobriety prevails – we will break the world tendency. If no – we will also have our own little Trumpyk or Trumpychka. We only want him/her to build the border wall with our unbearable neighbour.
