The liturgy and enthronement of the primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are happening at St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv.
Representatives of the clergy are participating in the enthronement: the Patriarchate of Constantinople, local churches, as well as representatives of the Ukrainian authorities, in particular, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko with his wife, and the faithful.
Police are guarding on Sofia Square, and its part near St. Sophia Cathedral is separated by a metal fence. The Epiphanius’s enthronement ceremony takes place on his birthday – on February 3 he turns 40 years.
