That’s the end of the tale. Well, not so fast, sociologists, who have included the leader of Okean Elzy in their polls, have something to explain to us. Svyatoslav Vakarchuk said that he would not participate in the upcoming presidential elections, but will work on changes in our country. So, let’s see what Svyatoslav Vakarchuk himself said there. He says he is well aware that… in jeans, he can do more for the country, than wearing a tie. Well, you know. Nothing prevents Mr. Leshchenko from going to the Verkhovna Rada in colored sweatshirts and socks. But simply going to work doesn’t always means to change something. In addition, Vakarchuk admitted that he constantly experiences frustration and discouragement of people with whom he communicates. He also sees how corruption and injustice corrode our country from the inside, and the greed of politicians makes it weak. Oh, what an attentive! We are losing such a candidate, people, such a candidate…
Well, in the end, Vakarchuk promises to work together with the team to ensure that the pro-European forces win, and also to make sure that as many young professionals as possible come to power ‒ people of the future, those, for whom justice and state interests are above all. In general, the statement is quite good. If I turned on “Vse Bude Dobre” (from Ukrainian – “Everything Will Be Fine” – the song of Okean Elzy) in the background, then I would melt away, honestly.
But political analyst Mykhailo Basarab stressed that despite the singer’s statement, there are still two strong options in his hands: to support one of the candidates or remain on the sidelines of the process. The expert is sure that at the climax, the word of support of the Okean Elzy’s leader can give a much greater electoral effect to one of the candidates than the scheme in which Vakarchuk at a certain moment would simply withdraw his candidacy for someone’s benefit. If the singer does not support anyone, then such a scenario, obviously, will be the best for the current President.
People’s Deputy and ex-journalist Mustafa Nayem also commented on the statement of the musician. In his opinion, it is quite clear that Vakarchuk’s team is still preparing for parliamentary elections. However, to go himself, according to Nayem, is far from the best scenario, and then it is necessary to prepare for the unification of all forces and the creation of a single coalition now. The politician in this way is hinting that Svyatoslav should support Anatoliy Grytsenko or Andriy Sadovyi, depending on how the politicians agree among themselves.
However, the journalist Maryna Danylyuk-Yarmolayeva noted that in general, Vakarchuk can be respected for such a decision. But the people’s desire for showmen and artists must sober up the top ten professional politicians, they say, the world is not circling around them. So it goes.
If to outline the situation as a whole, then blogger Anton Khodza described everything very briefly. Well, like Vakarchuk did not run for the presidency, that at first, everyone thought that he did, but then it turned out differently. But he can still go… Although, he will not. But the blogger Olena Yakhno believes that Vakarchuk’s statement is a relief for Petro Poroshenko, it was believed that the singer could really knock out the incumbent president from the second round. At the same time, Yakhno added that she respects the singer for this act because he realized that he is not ready for such a huge responsibility. Ready, according to the author, “freaks with big money and blue hats”, I wonder, who is she talking about?
But, on the contrary, political scientist Yuriy Romanenko believes that Vakarchuk played in Poroshenko’s favor, allegedly giving the electorate to the President. In short, we will hear more such thoughts before the election. I suppose that there will be a number of artists/politicians, who, according to various experts, play either for or against the current President. And how it really goes – we will see.
But Oleksandr Granovsky stressed that Vakarchuk, just like yesterday and the day before, remains a man with his own shortcomings and talents, and those, who allow themselves to criticize the singer must first… learn to at least read, not to mention music. Well, this, you know, personally reminds me of this excuse about “you should first achieve something”. So, couldn’t we, the users of the network, simply criticize someone? Eh…
