Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office in Ukraine and the Tripartite Contact Group in Minsk, Mr. Martin Saidik, said that there is a new plan for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbas, which should replace the Minsk accords, Kleine Zeitung reports.
“Over the past few years, we have seen that the Minsk accords are not very clear. The important point is that the implementation of the central element – holding local elections – requires outside assistance, and we have come to the conclusion that this can only be the United Nations”, he said.
Saidik also said that the creation of the European Union was proposed by the reconstruction agency, which would operate on the Donbas, like the one previously enjoyed by the EU in the Balkans.
