Singer of the Okean Elzy rock-band Svyatoslav Vakarchuk said that in 2019 he will not participate in the presidential election, but will work on changes in the country. This statement is posted on his Facebook page, Ukrainska Pravda writes.
He noted that the question of whether he would run for the presidency in 2019 was put to him during the year.
“First of all, let me thank all those who trust me, it is really a great honor for me, and I promise, I will definitely justify such trust”, Vakarchuk said.
“I have repeatedly stated that I am not interested in the power and the presidential post itself. I am interested in real changes in the country. And to dot the i’s, to remove all the questions, I officially declare: I, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, will not take part in the presidential election 2019”, he said.
