The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a decision imposing a temporary ban on local authorities to allocate free funds to bank deposits. The corresponding ban will be еstablished by the end of 2019, Hromadske reports.
It is noted that the reason for the adoption of such a decision was that a significant part of local councils during 2018 did not use budgetary funds in full. The government believes that this is evidence of ineffective use of budget funds because if they are on a bank deposit, they do not work for the benefit of communities.
After the adoption of the relevant resolution, the local community funds should be used more effectively, says the explanatory note to the resolution.
It should be noted that on the eve of the day, it was reported that local authorities do not actually use UAH 15 billion but keep it on deposits in state banks.
