The famous Ukrainian basketball player Oleksandr Okunsky died after the long struggle against cancer in Kyiv at the 48th year of his life.
Oleksandr Okunsky was one of the best basketball players in the history of Ukrainian basketball. He played at the Kyiv “Budivelnyk”, Donetsk Shakhtar, Odesa BIPA-Modi, BC Kyiv, as well as foreign clubs. He became the champion of Ukraine five times.
The head coach of women’s national basketball team Volodymyr Holopov told about this on his page in the social network. “Today my close friend, kum and just a good person Sasha Okunsky passed away! May he rest in peace!”, the mentor of the “yellow-blue” wrote.
