Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to the proposal of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to allow specialists from Germany and France to enter the Kerch Strait, reports UNIAN.
“I can only say one thing – more than a month ago, Chancellor Merkel asked President Putin to let German specialists come to the Kerch Strait and see how the passage through this water area is taking place, given that it is necessary to adhere to safety standards – pilotage is present, and so on – the president Putin immediately agreed. Lavrov said that after some time, Chancellor Merkel asked him that German specialists arrived along with the French, and he agreed to that”.
