From December 28, 2018 to January 11, 2019, 5 059 people – 2 042 adults and 3 017 children – became sick with measles in Ukraine. From the complications of measles since the beginning of the year, 2 people died. This was announced on January 15 at the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine, Ukrainska Pravda writes.
It is noted that in the 2nd week of 2019, 2,767 people suffered from measles – 1,087 adults and 1,680 children.
The Ministry of Healthcare emphasizes that vaccination is the only reliable way to protect oneself against measles.
