Judge of the Lefortovo Court of Moscow closed the session in the case of captive Ukrainian sailors. Closed session means that it is prohibited for the relatives of sailors, journalists, consuls and human rights commissioner Lyudmila Denisova to be present during the trial. The FSB investigators stated that the session was supposedly closed due to the secret of the investigation and the security of the participants in the process, Hromadske writes.

On the eve of the trial, relatives of sailors arrived in Moscow, but FSB did not allow them to see the prisoners.

The trial of the Lefortovo Court of Moscow will be held on January 15. During this trial, the case of 24 sailors will be considered and the preventive measure will be chosen. Earlier, the FSB requested to prolong their detention until April 26, 2019. In spite of the threat of a closed session, relatives of sailors and ombudswoman of Ukraine, Lyudmyla Denysova, arrived in Moscow.

Ukraine insists that captured Ukrainian sailors are prisoners of war, so they can not be judged, held in prisons or exchanged as political prisoners.
