The Verkhovna Rada approved the extension of the moratorium on the sale of agricultural land by January 1, 2020. The bill No. 9355-5 was supported by 231 people’s deputies, reports Ukrainska Pravda.
Recall that the moratorium on land sales was introduced in Ukraine in 2001. It was supposed that it would act before the adoption of the new Land Code, however, Parliament continued to prolong its operation.
It should be noted that the moratorium allows a shareholder to lease it, or to hand it down, but prohibits the official sale of a land plot or to use plots as a deposit.
