Metropolitan Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky and Vyshnevsky Oleksandr (Drabynko), released by the UOC-MP, held a liturgy at the Transfiguration Church of Kyiv, where he announced the transition to the Local Church of Ukraine. This is reported by Hromadske.
It is noted that the believers present in the temple met his words with applause.
“At the moment, the Holy Transfiguration Church belongs to the Moscow Patriarchate. After the establishment of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine at the Unified Cathedral in Ukraine, the MP warned Drabynko from serving in this temple, because he decided to move to a new church,” the statement reads.
The publication added that the Parish Council December 18 decided that Drabynko has the right to serve in the church and remain its pastor.
