The Vatican recognized the subjectivity of a single local Orthodox Church of Ukraine. This was reported by Facebook Archbishop of Chernigiv and Nizhyn Orthodox Church of Ukraine Eustratius Zorya, UNIAN writes.
“The official portal of news of the Vatican on December 17 announced the election of Metropolitan Epiphanius Primate of the autocephalous UOC,” he said.
According to Zorya, this actually means that, in accordance with the ecumenical dialogue with the Orthodox churches, by virtue of the canonical recognition of the universal Patriarch Bartholomew of the Ukrainian Church and its Metropolitan, “This Church acquires the subjectivity for the Vatican.”
