An extraordinary meeting of the Church Synod began in the residence of the Primate of the UOC-Moscow Patriarchate on the territory of Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The meeting is headed by Metropolitan Onufriy. This is reported on the website of the UOC-MP, UNIAN writes.
It is noted that during the session of the Synod of the UOC-MP “issues related to the challenges that are now facing the Ukrainian Orthodox Church” will be considered.
As UNIAN reported, on December 15, the Unity Council of Representatives of Ukrainian Orthodox Churches chose the Metropolitan of Pereyaslavsky and Bila Tserkva of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate Epiphanius as the head of a single local Orthodox Church in Ukraine.
