The Tomos of autocephaly to the future head of the local Orthodox Church in Ukraine will be presented by the Ecumenical Patriarch in Constantinople on January 6, 2019. This was stated by a spokesman of the UOC-Kyiv’s Patriarchate Archbishop Yevstratiy (Zorya), reports Ukrainska Pravda.
“Tomos of the Ecumenical Patriarch must be handed over to the primate on January 6,” said Yevstratiy. According to him, on January 6 in Constantinople “the divine liturgy, the co-ordination of the Ecumenical Patriarch and the Primate (local church) must be accomplished, and then he will be given a tomos.” The bishop also said that the hierarchs of the UOC-KP will come to the unification council on December 15.
