Counterintelligence confirmed that the wife and daughter of the First Deputy Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Serhiy Semochko have Russian citizenship. This is stated in the decision of the Kyiv Shevchenko district court, Ukrainska Pravda reports.
The case of possible treason was opened at the request of journalists, they discovered that Serhiy Semochko‘s relatives have the citizenship of the Russian Federation.
At the same time, the Counterintelligence Department on October 26 reported that his wife and daughter have Russian passports.
The investigation appealed to the court with a request to give access to the telephone of the intelligence officer and his family for almost 5 years. The court granted the petition, allowing law enforcement to investigate, in particular, from where Semochko, his wife and daughter called.
On October 1, in the program “Our money” the journalists published the results of their own investigation of the state of Semochko.
His family allegedly owns three houses with a total value of about $ 8 million, and relatives have Russian passports. According to journalists, while Semochko’s relatives constantly move between Kyiv and annexed the Crimea.
On October 3, it was reported that NABU opened a criminal case against the deputy chairman of foreign intelligence, Serhiy Semochko, on the article “illegal enrichment.”
Later, the SBU reported that it opened criminal proceedings under the article “high treason”.
