The Cabinet of Ministers decided to sign additional agreements to the Agreement on the fulfillment of the development task between the governments of Ukraine and the United States of September 17, 2014, within which Kyiv will receive an additional $ 78 million. The corresponding orders were developed by the Ministry of Economic Development in connection with the intentions of the US government to provide additional funds for the implementation of the goals set forth in the relevant agreement, Ukrinform reports.
It is noted that the signing of an additional agreement to ensure sustainable economic development will create the necessary legislative conditions for the allocation by the US government of additional technical assistance amounting to more than $ 54.4 million.
These funds will be used to ensure the availability of investment activities to the middle class in Ukraine, to strengthen the capacity of the private sector of the economy, to increase the energy efficiency of the Ukrainian economy and its energy security, and to increase the volume of agricultural production.
Thus, the total amount of technical assistance aimed at these goals under the agreement, taking into account additional funds, will amount to more than $ 139 million.
