The National Anti-Corruption Bureau argues that many corrupt schemes are being implemented by Ukrainian authorities with the participation of companies registered in more than 23 countries on three continents. This is stated in the report by NABU for the first half of 2018, writes Ukrainska Pravda.
It’s noted that the international direction is one of the key issues in the work of the Bureau since many corrupt schemes are implemented with the participation of companies registered abroad. Thus, according to detectives, Ukrainian corrupt officials choose the “residence” of illegally obtained funds in states with a simplified registration system, complicated procedures for disclosure of information and a high degree of confidentiality. According to NABU, losses incurred in the interests of the state with the participation of foreign counterparties, are calculated at 1.84 billion UAH, 22.07 million USD, or 12.03 million EUR.
