Dmytro Gnap, famous journalist-investigator, said that he no longer be involved with journalism. He goes into politics. It was also added by Gnap, that he could continue being a media worker, but according to him, mire can be done if he enters big politics. How this decision was received by community – in reactions from DUMKA.
Dmytro Gnap unveiled this statement on his own page in the social network. Good God, of a sudden, among the explanations appeared thesis that “while they are inside the power and we’re outside – nothing will change”. Hmm, I’ve heard that somewhere already. And of course, how not to praise your predecessors, those journalists who also entered politics. However, not too much success has been demonstrated. Or maybe, it is professional solidarity? Or it is the way to excuse yourself in advance?
But not to praise yourself too much – it’s somehow wrong. Am I right? “I can do one more thousand journalistic investigations and expose two thousand more corrupted officials”, Dmytro wrote. So come on, why not? Or it’s better to expose them from Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament)? What about precursors then? Something is going wrong with this puzzle, Mr. Dmytro.
This news schematically looks quite similar to their description by Dmytro Zolotukhin, Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine: I’ve created a political party, come on, join me. So are there any investigative journalists eager to be in this Dmytro‘s Ark of salvation?
And now, be careful, the floor is taken by MP Igor Mosiichuk. In his post, it seems that Gnap will be a new hero of melodrama “Leshchenko-2”. Well, further the classics: Well-known grant-eater, media-killer, Serhiy Leshchenko’s replacement. Everything would be great and even funny… Please take away the tablet from Mosiuchuk. Why are there so many emojis everywhere? It’s like I’m scrolling through my younger sister’s Instagram.
Nazar Prykhodko, volunteer, civil rights activist and blogger, confessed that he is skeptical about famous journalists in politics after seeing fruits of Nayyem’s, Leshchenko’s, Zalischuk’s and others’ work. But the most astonishing thing in this post is Prykhodko suggestion that Gnap is going to join “Self-reliance” party, due to his close cooperation with channel-24, that is owned by Sadovyi’s wife. Whoa, it’s like a new soap opera is going to run. I wonder for how many seasons it will last.
An economist Borys Kushniruk, compared Gnap’s statement with a political coming out. According to the author of the post, Gnap has been doing politics for too long. Also added that it is impossible to call it journalism what Gnap has been doing for the last two years. Uff. Serious statement, things are getting hotter, it even becomes interesting to me.
Here we have Eugene Kuzmenko, blogger and journalist. He decided to turn directly to Gnap, because the situation looks like we are changing the colonel to lieutenant. And it is at best.
Philosopher, cultural expert and interpreter Oleksiy Panich doesn’t believe in the political future of Dmitry Gnap. He stresses that Gnap can turn into the same …, same politicians as his predecessors.
And for sure we can’t omit jokes. So, Mikhailo Tkach could not resist this call. He says, while Gnap is going into politics, Petro Poroshenko is going into journalism. Get out of here, I will laugh my head off at this joke.
Viktor Lytovchenko, journalist and blogger, commented on the situation a little bit better. He said that politics has its elastic limit and it is necessary to wait for exodus of Leshchenko and Nayyem. Hah. Something tells me that these boys can stick firmly to their seats. Former journalists, and all this kind of things.
Our soap opera has a very unexpected and sudden end. According to political scientist Victor Nebozhenko, the most mysterious presidential candidate and politician, in general, is not Dmitry Gnap at all, bur Anatoly Gritsenko. That’s how it’s going, my dears, wait for the next season.
Reactions were gathered and politics was yet omitted by Stepan the Goat
