Former member of “Party of Regions”(further “regional”) Hanna Herman, stated that during Euromaidan Ukrainians treated “Party of Regions” the same way they treat now Roma. Such a statement was made during her interrogation on the case of Yanukovych high treason at Obolonsky court. More about unsuccessful “regional” comparisons – in reactions from DUMKA.
Reactions were collected, let’s say, hot on the trail, so let me quote the most important and funniest of them. For example, writer Andriy Kokotyukha said that he strongly opposed beatings and murders of the Roma, but he doesn’t mind if someone would catch and… Give a lesson to some “Party of Regions” members. So, it seems that “safari” gets a fresh coat of paint.
Here we have the first jokes (though, maybe Mr. Andriy was joking?). Blogger Artem Mulder noticed that every summer people start digging out new potatoes, but for some reason they are digging out Herman. Well, isn’t it easy to dig something (or someone?) back, don’t you think so?
Blogger Ivan Oberemko emphasized that Herman directly compares the Roma with killers, traitors, collaborators, separatists and a plethora of other very bad people. Just curious, if Herman knows the definition of all these words? While “regionals” were suffering, didn’t they have time for self-education?
Instead, Eugene Karas, leader of C14 organization, still decided to equalize the Roma and “the regionals”. He called both of them “metal collectors of Ukrainians’ purses”. It seems that history does not teach someone.
